  Thessaloniki once occupied almost two hectares of the old city. Its construction
  began at the end of the 2nd century A.D.
3 The White Tower: Dating back to the 15th century, this defensive structure had
  been used as a guards' quarters by the Janissaries and as a prison.
  No worries; today it's simply a historical museum.
4 Mount Athos: The famous mountain and peninsula located in Macedonia,
  Greece, draws big crowds as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
5 Thessaloniki's active nightlife: This city is famous for its rich nightlife experience.
