Cardiff

Cardiff Castle
In a country with many historic castles, Cardiff is one of the most popular for a reason. From the kaleidoscopic Arab Room and grand Banqueting Hall to the well-adorned State Apartments and famous stone-sculpture Animal Wall, Cardiff Castle is full of incredible features that set it apart from others. It's also one of the best-preserved castles, with sections dating back as far as the 10th century. The castle even hosts a nightly ghost tour by candlelight for those who seek a spookier perspective of this historic haunt.

Cardiff Bay
Covering the former dockyards and occupying around 2,700 acres of waterfront property, the Cardiff Bay redevelopment project is one of the largest of its kind in Europe. This transformed waterfront is now home to a bevy of dining, shopping, entertainment and recreation options for all ages. The former warehouses and wharves have been transformed into luxury homes and hotels, as well as some of the top dining destinations in the region. Spend some time walking the parks and paths, and you'll find some that wind through wetland preserves with unforgettable wildlife sighting opportunities.

Wales Millennium Centre
Located in Cardiff Bay, the sprawling five-acre Millennium Center is considered one of the best performing arts centers in the world. It hosts a large variety of talents—from classical music and opera to ballet, modern dance and even literary events. They also offer educational classes, workshops and behind-the-scenes guided tours. Even if you can't make it to a show, you should definitely check it out.

St Fagans National
Museum of History
Celebrating its 70th birthday this year, St Fagans is dedicated to sharing Welsh culture from the Iron Age through present day—all set against the scenic backdrop of a 16th-century manor house and gardens. Since its opening, over 40 original buildings from different historical periods have been re-erected in the 100-acre parkland, including a farm, school, chapel and Workmen's Institute.

Principality Stadium
The Principality Stadium, is the national stadium of Wales. It is the home of the Wales national rugby union team and has also held Wales national football team games. Initially built to host the 1999 Rugby World Cup, it has gone on to host many other large-scale events, such as the Tsunami Relief Cardiff concert, the Super Special Stage of Wales Rally Great Britain, the Speedway Grand Prix of Great Britain and various large scale concerts.
